THE BIG Council Elections – 7 MAY 2026

There are 18 wards in Coventry with 3 councillors in each. This means there are 54 councillors in total.
Local elections are held every year for 3 years out of 4 with no elections in the 4th year. This is because there are 3 councillors in each ward with one elected each year for 4 years. This means there is a gap in the 4th year.
Some wards have been changed following a recent boundary review. This means every council seat is up for election which is not likely to happen again for some time. This gives every voter the opportunity to change which party controls the council overnight. You can vote for any 3 candidates you choose in your local ward on 7 May.
